urgent help needed (rear derailleur cable)

Hey guys,
I've been working on my stupid Bianchi all day, and I am seriously about to cry. Please give me your guidance...

Basically, the rear cable is all frayed. For whatever reason, I decided it would be a good idea to spend 3 hours trying to use tape and pliars to route everything back through the housing. Anyways, that was a failed effort, needless to say.

I just went and bought a new derailleur cable, but I am pretty lost as far as how the derailleur cable attaches to the shifters itself. I have Campagnolo Avanti shifters with a Campagnolo Veloce rear derailleur.

Please help!

A photo or 3 would help. But it's not a difficult task - whatever the set-up. It's good you are replacing the cables. Gear and brake-cables should, ideally, be replaced yearly. The last thing you'd want would be a front brake-cable fraying and failing during an emergency stop.

+1 Park Tool site is your friend. Or just take it to your favorite bike shop and they can do it for you cheap (usually).
