Shimano Brake/Shift Cable Question
I'm slowly building a bike and wanted to know more about what Shimano cables to get. Obviously I will need brake and shifter cables and I want to go top of the line - Dura Ace.
The question I have is that I have seen Dura Ace shifter cables for sale and then I see some that are SIS. What is the difference? I want to mention that I am building using 7900,
Thanks!

I bought the shifters on Craigslist - they were new and taken off of a bike (replaced by Sram Red all over). So I don't have the cables.

my understanding is that the DA is pre lubricated and generally a little nicer in quality than the standard SIS. I would go with the DA Cable set. also take a look at Jagwire sets, I have had good experience with those, i think it's called "Racer" and you can get a bunch of colours if you are so inclined!

I don't think brand of cable is too important, though there are sometimes differences between lower-end and higher-end cables. Because of the precision required by indexed shifting, the quality of shifter cables matters more than brake cables.

Get stainless-steel such as the Slick from Jagwire - which is Shimano. Here are some for the brakes. Hunt around for the best prices.

And don't forget cable-housing. 5mm for brakes and 4mm for gears. Or use 5mm for both. Pick a color you like.
