Using a braze-on FD with an Adaptor Clamp, And Issues?

Alright, quick and stupid question.

Got a DA 7703 FD coming (for my 9sp setup), but I could only find braze-on. Are there any issues (reliability) with the adaptor clamps (from Shimano or Problem Solvers)? Or are they basically the same as the clamp on FD's, minus the clamp, and hence the 10 dollars savings or so.

My experience is that occasionally the bolts don't work so a quick trip to the shop is needed. Also, the Problem Solver bracket is poorly rounded so you might need to spend a lot of time with a file to get the bumps out. Otherwise it will seriously damage your paint.

Other than that, they work the same as a regular FD with clamp.

No experience with the Problem Solvers' clamp but I've used the the Shimano adapter clamp with complete satisfaction on several bikes.

Actually I prefer using the Shimano adapter to a clamp-on fd. I can remove the fd from the clamp for cleaning and replace it without any change in it's alignment.

Absolutely no problems with the Shimano clamp. I'm surprised that given how well this works Shimano continues to offer clamp-on FDs

You are thinking like a ration human being who works on his own bike and can remove and add parts. The clamp on FDs are made for volume builders, in my opinion.
