Lubing Quick Releases?

I've noticed that my QR's have been getting a little "stiff" - namely, they either feel a little loose or far too tight/difficult to undo. Do most of you lube the QR periodically, and if so, what do you use?

thnx

I just use 10W30 on them. seems to be good enough.
chain lube will also work.

I'd do both and the threads (if the threads don't specify antiseize or loctite)

it's hard to guess how the lube will work it's way in, so both.

What kind of QR do you have? If you have the Shimano/Campagnolo internal cam type, you need to lube the hidden cam from the "inner" side of the "head". I usually disassemble the thing to clean and lubricate properly. If you have the external cam type, ala Salsa, then a couple of drops of oil on either the "ball" or "socket" side of the cam is fine.

No, I've got some (probably) Specialized anonymous QR's w/ and exposed cam.
