700c to 27" conversion?
Lots of conversions from 27" to 700c. Has anyone done a conversion the other way around from 700c to 27"?
I found a used 130 rear spaced frame but would like to use much of the still good and functional components from my older 27 inch wheeled bike, 126 spaced frame. I suppose the main issues would be (i) the vertical and horizontal frame clearance at the fork with the larger 27" rims/1.25 tires; (ii) the fit of the older brake calipers on the newer frame; and (iii) axle fit in the rear dropout. Would a new rear hub may well be necessary to fit the wider 130 spacing? I'm well past racing days and I like my older, slightly taller 27" wheels.

I doubt it's going to work but why even ask? Test fit your 27" wheels on the frame and fork and see what happens.

Hello you pretty much covered it. it is strictly a trial and error thing. they only way to tell about the wheels fitting is to try them. as for the brakes, the first issue is reach. with the bigger wheels in the frame will the brake pads raise up enough to contact the rims. also are your old brakes standard or recessed mount? if they are standard and the new frame is recessed you mau still be able to mount them some way. 126 to 130 is not a big difference so just use the wheels. if you have to get a new wheel built it may not be worth it.
