Need some Derailleur advise/help
I adjusted my dérailleur and the limits are fine. I moved the chain to the ring in the middle of the 3 rings. But it rubs slightly when chain is in the largest cog. Park Tool says to do this,
"If chain is rubbing cage, turn barrel adjuster clockwise, or inward toward shifter body"
So I turned it clockwise but I ran out of room and it is still rubbing.... do I make the wire a little more loose because that is what turning the barrel adjuster clockwise is actually doing to the wire?
"If barrel adjuster is all the way in or out and no adjustment is possible, reset inner wire tension. Shift to innermost chainring and loosen inner wire pinch bolt. Pull wire gently with fourth-hand tool and tighten pinch bolt. Begin adjustment of inner wire tension as above".
I don't have a fourth-hand tool, can I use pliers?

Pliers are fine, just don't crush the cable. It is possible the hold the wire with pliers and put
good tension on it without crushing. OTOH the clamp should crush the cable.
