Sora Reach Adjustment

I keep reading about some screw in the middle of the hood but I'm not seeing it. Is it under the hood? I have 2009 sora shifters and it is impossible (unless you have sasquatch sized hands) to reach the thumb shifters from the drops.
I know I can get shims and there are other ways, but if there is an actual way to do this than some one please give some direction!

The reach adjustment is for the brake levers only. The unreachable from the drops thumb levers on the Sora shifters are their one downside.
