Old Schwinn think seatpost - trying to put a modern seat on...?

Old Schwinn thin seatpost - trying to put a modern seat on...?
Hi,
I got a Schwinn Road Bike, 10 speed, from the 60's and the seatpost has a narrow diameter, especially the top part (where it gets even thinner). I can't really use the seatpost clamp (and seat post) for a new seat.
Anyone have experience how to convert something like this so it can take a new seat? Like a conversion piece that is put onto the top part of the seat post so I can stick it into a normal seat post clamp?
Hope this is understandable what I mean.

Wald makes a convesion set post that is bigger at the top. Less than $10 or you can sometimes get it to work by putting the Schwinn seat post in upside down. Roger

Yes, they make a conversion post for directly mounting modern two-rail saddles. I don't know the manufacturer, so keep looking.
