Turbo trainer wheel support

Can anyone supply instructions of how to fabricate a front wheel support for a turbo trainer out of timber. I know you can buy them but they seem inordinately expensive for what they are. No mortise and tendon joints or any of that crap please - I was an accountant before I retired not a a master carpenter but am pretty good with a saw, hammer and screwdriver.

I can't give you detailed instructions, but all I did was take some hardwood flooring and glue 3 pieces together in a u shape. Then cut some other pieces of flooring to fit in the "box" so I could either raise the front wheel or lower it. The wheel moves a little side to side, but I didn't want it too tight so anything would get bent. Works great for my bike and trainer.

buy a front wheel mount adapter from performance, it is a metal bracket with an attached axle and quick release, and bolt it to something you make from 2x4 or whatever
