Bearings
I have a Schwinn Trailway, and I recently rode it rather far on a rather rough stretch of road. I noticed an annoying clicking coming from the back wheel. I checked it, and well it really needed to be trued. So I fixed that, but the clicking persisted. I suspected the bearings (turns out it was). One little problem though. I can't get the bearings back in. The top piece of the bearing enclosure won't fit into the lower properly, there's about a 2mm gap, I can see the bearings, and needless to say, the wheel doesn't work well. Anyone else had this problem? Anyone know how to go about remedying this? I'm taking it to a bike shop today, but Id still like to know.

try pushing the dust cap (that what you are talking about ) more down the cone to fit into the hub, if it doesn't go then the bearings are out of place ( one on top of other.) and need to be reset again.
