Swap spindles on Look KEO pedals.

Is it possible to swap the left / right side spindles on a pair of KEO pedals?
I think it will work but they will have a tendency to loosen since they will be threaded backwards, but enough loctite could fix this. This is for a tandem application where I want to swap the left / right side of a standard road crankset.

Tandem cranks are not available in 170mm fronts unless I go to square taper BB so that is why I am asking.
I am wanting to use Gossamer or Ultegra cranks
