BB spindle length compatibility with crankset

I'm about to purchase an italian-threaded, 111mm, bottom bracket (campagnolo veloce). I've had my eye on a crankset that recommends a spindle length of 110mm. I'm tempted to go with it as it's only 1mm difference, but I know how precise the measurements need to be. Should I go through with this or do I need to find a crankset to match my bb spindle length? Or is there some adapter I can pick up to even it out? Thanks in advance.

1 mm is insignificant. But is your crankset meant for an iso or jis taper? The campy bb should be an ISO taper, which smaller than a JIS taper, and the crankset will fit differently if it is JIS. If its an ISO crankset you're using, you're golden. Buy the 111mm. Otherwise, I'd recommend the shimano un54 cartridge bb, italian threaded, in 110mm.

What crank are you using?

Never heard of it, so it would likely be a JIS.

Edit: I looked it up. Heavy @ss bling crank that takes a 110mm JIS. Do not use the Veloce.

All city is JIS, a company out of Wisconsin that produces Boutique Track bike parts.

Don't get a campy BB, the crank will not properly seat. Your drive train, ie BB, Crank, Rear hub/freewheel, derailleurs and chain should be either ALL Campy or ALL JIS(shimano). These two systems are designed to NOT work with eachother. Think of it as Pepsi and Coke, very similar products, but they are not exactly the same and are competitors.

BTW- you can get a 110mm JIS square taper BB from Nashbar.com, they have em in stock now for like $19 new.

With all city you do pay a bit for the "Bling" factor. The weight is a bit heavier than you can get for the same price, but they are pretty strong parts. Unless you are a real weight wienie don't worry about the weight, plus it's a track bike, it's already pretty light. if you like the crank go ahead and get it, I went with the Origin 8 crank after riding a bulletproof for 2 years without problems(and I'm a heavy guy @ over 200lbs).

I wouldn't bother with anything less than a shimano UN5x 107mm/110mm (they both result in the same chainline) bb. IT's $25 MSRP.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Taking all that into consideration, I'm going with the Shimano BB/Origin8 crank combo. Found the 2 of them for less than $100 on Amazon. Again, thanks to all.
