Dual valve floor pump, only one valve works.
I have a Serfas floor pump I purchased a few years back from a LBS. It's never been abused, always been in my house, well take care of. At the time I purchased it, I only had one type of valve on my bikes.
I recently got a new bike, and this one has the other valve type. My pump worked wonderfully when I put new tires on the bike. However, now when I try to pump the tires on my older bike, the pump will not work.
It's a duel head pump. the head has no adjustments, nor can it be taken apart. I think the valve or whatever that is inside the pump head is stuck/sticky. Could I squirt some type of lube inside to try to free it up some?
or is there something else you can suggest?

And what type of valve are you trying to pump up...? Presta valves need to have a little bit of air released before they will pump up usually.

i have tried many different tubes with both valves. only the presta works.
I can't exchange it as the shop is no longer around.

I've seen the same thing happen with Blackburn floor-pumps. Usually their Presta-side of the dual-chuck won't work. Solution: Get a new chuck. Or spring for a new & better floor-pump.

tried that. still no worky...
I tried to take a tube I filled with another pump and see if I could put that on my broken pump, to try and push some air backwards through the pump head. Next, I'll try to smash the thing into the ground or with a hammer. surely it can't hurt it...

I mean buy a new chuck head of you choice, take a knife and cut the old one off. Use a very small hose clamp to clamp the old hose to the new head. Or you can probably buy a chuck head with new hose and clamp the whole assembly to the pump. I'm assuming you have a floor pump.
