Attach STI to handlebars

I'm sure this is simple and I'll feel like a fool for asking BUT, I'm building a commuter from the frame up, mostly to learn how.

I bought new Shimano Ultegra STI's on ebay. I'm trying to attach them to the handlebars and , for the life of me. can't find the bolt to adjust the ring to fit over the bars.

Instructions say it's on the outside of the brifter, I've peeled back the hood as far as I can. All I see are two tiny phillips head screws holding a cover down.

Can anyone guide me?

The pinch bolt is located on the outside of the hoods. Look for a small indentation. The bolt is under that area. you need a 5mm allen wrench to tighten the bolt. The bolt is about 1/2" under the hood. Here is a link to the installation instruction for the shifters. http://bike.shimano.com/publish/cont...stallation.pdf

It's under there. Just hard to find the first time you do it.

The bolt is accessed from the front of the shifter, on the outside panel. There's a semi-circular groove that will guide your hex wrench to the right place - the hood only needs to be peeled back slightly. You may need a longer allen wrench if you don't have a p-handle set.
