Oh...About 100 different places. It depends on who has part I need and at the best price. And if it has a name I haven't heard associated with shoddy service or outright thievery. The more esoteric and scarce the part I'm hunting, the shorter the list of possibles becomes. Such as finding a Hirame presta-chuck for a floor-pump.

niagaracycle.com seems to have the best selection, but they offer terrible pictures and no information on their merchandise. Also, they ship slowly. Their prices are often the best. So there are always tradeoffs!

Then you can order parts for a small markup over cost and get used parts REAL cheap, as building up a bike from scratch paying retail prices is kind of a sucker's game, unless you're very patient (see e.g. the complete bikesdirect.com bikes with Ultegra components for $799, when the retail price on Ultegra shifters alone is $400).

One I use a lot when searching for a part is www.qbike.com . It's a cycling parts search engine that gives results for the part you're searching for from 25 different websites. Super useful.

I use ebay for most things.....I judge the sellers ratings and I have found that if you research the item and stay within your budget for the item you can get good deals. I use the BUY IT NOW feature and I usually end up with the product faster than traditional stores. They appear to be looking for your positive feedback. I have done a lot of buying lately and have not been disappointed.
