looking for a cheap bike scale
I know that some people use a cheap walmart fish scale but it doesnt seem like the little hook they put on those is strong enough. I would prefer to have a digital scale under $30, got any ideas?

this is the one I use, works fine |
that looks just like the ones at walmart, so i guess that little hook is strong/big enough to weigh a bike

Mine is a Sunlite. It clamps in my workstand. I don't think I paid more than $20 for it on eBay. No complaints.

I simply borrow the scale out of the bathroom, grab the bike and step on. Then I put the bike down and subtract my own weight from the previous value. Good enough for me.

I found a park DS-1 on ebay for 32.99+free shipping so all is well, thanks

Got myself a hand held electronic luggage scale to weigh my bike for something like 18 bucks, IIRC, from Bed and Bath. It seems to be accurate enough as it very very closely matche the weights I get from two digital bathroom scales I used to use to weigh my bikes through the weight subtraction method ( My weight with the bike minus my weight without).
There are scales from bike accessory companies out there, but they seem to be way overpriced for what they are. Chombi |
I use a small digital gram scale for weighing components, and large professional doctor scale to weigh my bikes...not really, I'm not as anal as you guys!!
