FC6500 and FC6503 compatibility

I am in market for a 42t chainring for my FC6503 ultegra triple crankset. I see a couple of FC6500 42t chainrings available for sale, but I am not sure if they will fit. Are these models close enough? Should I buy this?

The FC6500 will not be designed as a middle ring for a triple crankset, meaning no ramps or pins to help shift your chain from the inner ring to the middle ring. I would not buy one of those rings unless you were truly desperate. And if you were really that desperate, I have a barely used 42T 105 level ring that would do the trick for you.

Thank you for a quick reply Joejack. It really helped. I am placing an order for a 6503 (exactly compatible) 42t chainring from Amazon.com now. Thank for your offer though.
