Wheel Build
I have a question about wheels. So I have a friend(kind of an acquaintance) that wants to use a rim he has already laced to a 126mm hub and lace it to a 130mm hub. I was wondering how much one would expect to pay a non-expert but definitely qualified mechanic to build a wheel for you?

Non-expert is a loose term, but probably between $20 and $40 in labor.

One of the shops near me charges about $40-50 per wheel for labor, not including parts. They will not, however, reuse an old rim or spokes, only the hub (for liability and warranty reasons, I'd imagine). Your friend may encounter similar restrictions from other builders. Unless the rim is exotic and expensive, he may not end up saving much money over buying an all-new wheel.
