Proper tool for removal of threaded headset lockring
Greetings,
I picked up an early 80s Novara bicycle the other day. The headset has a lock ring on it with three notches in it. What's the proper tool to remove this lock ring?

Crank and Bottom Bracket Wrench will work. If you don't have one a punch and hammer will work too.

The Hozan C-205 "Rock Ring" Wrench (yeah, they really spelled it that way) was a double end hook spanner with one end shaped for bottom bracket lock rings and the other for notched headset lock rings. See if you can find a shop with one of these.

The Hozan was designed for these smaller lockrings and work perfectly.
