got all the parts...uhh where's the stem cap?

Hey guys,

so i bought all the parts to my bike through online outets and the frame from LBS (came with headset, fork, frame) and today I realized I don't have a stem cap.

Do I contact the LBS who should've provided me one with the headset? Or call the guy who sold me the stem? Or do you have to buy it separately like an individual part? Not sure, and google isn't helping.

THanks!

In my experience, stem caps are provided with the headset.

Edit: Some weird bevelled stems come with their own, but this is probably not the case.

I've seen it both ways. One of my Specialized-brand stems came with its own top-cap. That was for looks, I think. Usually there's one w/the headset.

You can buy them separately though. Just google "headset cap". Here are a couple:

Go back to the LBS and ask for the top cap. It should have come with the headset and they just forgot to give it to you. If it got mis-placed, they should have a bunch of extras lying around. The logos may not match but functionally it will be fine.
