certified mechanic
What bicycle mechanic schools are good to become a certified bicycle mechanic? Are there any schools in the Midwest? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

There are two good schools out there that seem to turn out good mechanics. Barnett's Institute and United Bicycle Institure.
Both are out west, but offer relatively inexpensive lodging for the course. Of the two I prefer United because IMO in an number of ways they're more down to earth in their methodology. If interested, you should contact both for student references, and also ask for the names of dealers who hired their graduates and see what they have to say.
