Which is the correct hanger for a modern Schwinn Prelude Road bike?
Hi,
Against my better judgement, I bought a used in pieces modern Schwinn Prelude road bike. I probably paid too much but the kid needed the money and the parents wanted the pile of parts gone from the garage.
My original plan was getting it for the wheels only. However, if I can find the missing parts I want to try bringing back to life. I should have most parts from my parts bin. However, a critical missing part is the rear derailler hanger. Since it is an Al frame it doesn't have an integrated hanger. The hanger is seperate (guessing steal) part that is missing. The kid said it cracked. I think that was why the bike was abandonned.
Can anyone help idnetify the replacement hanger. Here is a stock picture of the hanger and derailler.
Thanks

There are dozens of different hangers, some are used by more than one manufacturer, and most manufacturers use different types on different models.
Wheels Mfg. makes replacements for just about all of them.

Without a good look at the whole hanger, it's difficult to match by eye, and they don't seem to list your bike here, unless I missed it, but from what I can see, #49 looks like a match.

Buy from an LBS rather than on line, they will likely help you out and ensure you don't end up paying for one that doesn't fit.

Hi,
Thanks for your help so far. I have fired a couple of emails. Here is a picture of the dropout in case
that helps with the identification.
Thanks again.
