Shimano Alfine Cranks - self extracting bolts?

Hey folks;

The Shimano Alfine bottom bracket on my new Swobo Baxter loosened up a bit on its maiden ride. When I went to remove the left hand crank arm to tighten it up I hadn't seen a crank arm bolt quite like it before. Can anyone tell me if it is a 'self extracting' type, which I can just back out and the arm will come with it?

Sorry I don't have a pic' to post, so I'm hoping to hear from someone familiar with these cranks. And if you are, a torque spec' would be most appreciated as well.

Thanks in advance. DanO

Self extractors typically have a cover plate that screws into the crank threads (where crank
extractors normally screw) and a central opening allowing the 8mm allen wrench to fit into
the crank fixing bolt. Leaving the cover plate in place and loosening the fixing bolt extracts
the crank. If that is the set up, and the exploded diagrams at Shimano suggest it is, then
you have self extracting type.

Hey Thanks a bunch. I didn't realize the Shimano site was so helpful. Went there and downloaded some PDF's.
