New to disc brakes
OK, so a bought a set of XT-hub wheels for my new touring bike build. These hubs have the built-in splines for the Centerlock disc mounting system.
I bought a carbon fork with the 51mm spaced mounting holes for the brake.
I am thinking about the Avid BB5 Road since it seems highly rated and is compatible with road levers.
For the rotor, I am thinking about getting a couple of these, because they're cheap @ $10.67.

What I'd like to know is whether or not the adaptor which converts the 6-bolt mounting system to the Centerlock mounting system is reusable? In other words, is it bolted on rather than riveted, so that I can use it on 6-bolt rotors in the future? Thanks

Because that is a cheap rotor, is it made of steel that is going to be constantly rusty in a humid climate and look like hell? Maybe I should get stainless steel rotor instead?

Get the Avid BB7s, they are much better than the BB5s for very little added cost. You could use the rotor you have selected, but the postage will probably negate the cost save. The Avids come with rotors, so you can purchase an adapter like this one: https://aebike.com/product/problem-so...r0380-qc30.htm or this one: https://www.cambriabike.com/shopexd....r+5Arm+Splined. I think I've seen other adapters for under $10, but you'll have to shop around.

I've had good luck with BB7 brakes on a couple of bikes. I've seen a lot of comments that the extra cost (not much) is worth it. More easily adjusted.
Are those cheap rotors not SS?
Don't know about the Centerlock adapter.
