very quick cleat and pedal question

feel a bit dumb not being able to (with 100% confidence) find the answer to this on the internets, but...

can the 3 holed cleats that look pedals use be used in shimano road pedals (for example, like these: https://ottawa.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-se...AdIdZ198285558)

sorry for what seems (to me) to be such a stupid question.

Look cleats only fit Look pedals. If your question is 3 hold Shimano cleats for those pedals, I affirm Merlin, No. Those pedals use only 2 hole cleats, SPDs, which you find on MTB shoes.

No. The old style shimano road pedal would use a Look cleat. That was pre-2000.

Those pedals do not use the SPD cleats, they use the SPD-R (SH-91)cleats. Much larger than the SPDs. Newer Shimano road pedals are SPD-SL and are more similar, but not compatible with, Look cleats.
