27x 1 1/8 cyclocross tires
Hi everyone
I have a 6 years old Lotus road bike with the 27x 1/18 tiers. I use this bike for commuting and now to ride to my new job I have about 3 miles of dirt road which the current tires can't handle it ( I got 3 flat tires in three days even though I changed it with a new tube each time) I was wondering if someone can tell me where can I find 27 x 1 1/8 cyclocross tires for my bike which I can switch to them. I look at internet but all of the cyclocross tires where 700c.
Thanks for you help
Leo

Do you have sufficient clearance for 27x1-1/4 or 27x1-3/8 tyres? I use 27x1-3/8 knobbies on my Peugeot UO-8 and can ride it on most dirt roads and nontechnical multitrack trails.
Do you really need a true cyclocross tyre? If your only concern is punctures and you are otherwise happy with ordinary road tyres, how about kevlar "Mr. Tuffy" liners, heavy-duty tubes, and kevlar-reinforced tyres, such as Specialized Armadillos? The only flat I ever got with one of those was from a BIG slice of broken glass. I have also had very good luck with Continental Ultra-2000s.

Thank you kindly for your help. I think, not 100% sure, that I have enough clearance for 1/4 and 3/8. Do you think that I can use them instead of 1/8 and they will actually fit.
Also as you brought it up, I really don't need the cyclocross tire, just want something that can ride both off and on road without getting flat, but the problem is; I don't know where to order them?
Thanks
