Adding extra headset washers or spacers? Is it possible?
 

Hey all, I bought a headset and installed it only to learn that the stack height was smaller than expected... And the locknut can't keep going (i.e. it's not threaded all the way through the top and has a stopping point...

Can I just add spacers/washers to alleviate this problem?

(the headset is threaded headset (1 inch)

yes you can nothing wrong with that at all, just make sure you do get good engagement of the locknut threads.

yes, add spacers to it.

it's better to use modern threadless spacers, than older spacers with that annoying notch that tends to thread itself onto the fork if you're not careful.
