25.4mm or 26mm bars

So this is a, I'm guessing 6-8 year old Raleigh comfort bike. It has an adjustable stem that needs to be replaced. The stem is a 1 1/8 inch threaded. When I was looking up replacements I found a stem just like it had, but it was available for 25.4 and 26mm bars. They are just plain silver, riser hybrid bike bars, so I was looking for some tips on figuring out which size they are.

Almost definitely 25.4mm like all flat bars used to be. Now some come in 31.8 but those are easy to pick out as the center section of the bars is visibly larger than the rest of the bars. Road drop bars are the only bars I've ever seen that come in 26.0mm.

+1. If they are flat bars, they are almost certainly 25.4 mm. As joejack said, only road bars came in 26.0 but a few road bars also came in 25.4.
