sram cassette compatible with shimano?

question is in the title... have a sram cassette... will it be compatable with shimano freehub? i need to get a new rear wheel before a century saturday, and have a lead on a set of fulcrum 7's for $120 (they are 10 speed). I am hoping my 9 speed sram will work with a spacer on the freehub?

Yes, the SRAM is compatible with Shimano freehubs.

Might be some details with spacers that hopefully someone else can comment on. I did find that Shimano cassette + Bontrager freebody needs a 1mm spacer, while SRAM cassette +same Bontrager freehub does not need the 1 mm spacer.

Your 9-speed cassette should not need a spacer with a Shimano hub.

My setup:

SRAM 990 9-speed cassette on Shimano Ultegra hub. No spacer required. It works perfectly.

The bike needed a bath when I took that photo. Oh well.
