grease?
 

When I need to re-pack my berrings, can I use this wheel berring grease called "Harley Davidson Wheel Berrings Grease" or do I need to go out and buy something else?

I think you can use that grease, or grease from an auto parts store. In my youth, I used wheel bearing grease for cars to re-grease my GT Performer 20 inch bike and it worked fine. I would be dubious of claims that bicycle grease somehow tolerated friction better than grease for motorcycles or cars.

You can use just about any reasonable quality grease you like. If you have some Harley grease you can use it. You could also use any automotive bearing grease. A can from the auto parts store is much cheaper than a small tube of bike grease from a bike shop.

I figure if the grease out of my grease gun can handle Ujoints at 3000rpm, and the like, then its good enough for my bike. LBS confirmed, said its very good stuff. Guess I don't need to buy that $9 smaller-than-toothpaste-tube-o-spendy-grease at the bike shop LOL

Yeah, Ive used that in my front hub and I thought this "clicking sound" was because of old grease. I have repacked this bike numerous times and it still does it. The re-packing makes the sound go away for a little while but it comes back. Anyone know what this sound is?

Many years ago, automotive wheel bearing greases contained fibers to help hold the stuff together. Modern greases no longer have this composition. They are all pretty much the same.

Your sound, since it happens soon after repacking, is probably caused by a bad bearing/bearings.

So I should replace the berrings? Thats what I thought. I dont think its the hub.

Did you examine the cones and balls for roughness or pitting? You may need to replace these.
