Brazed on FD helpppp!
So I acquired an older FD6500 shimano front derailleur. However it is brazed-on instead of the usual clamp style.
Any way to make it mount on my bike without drilling hole into the frame? |
Yes, the simplest way around your problem is to get a clamp on adapter that the derailleur will then mount to.

sweeeeet! thanks!

Yes, get an adaptor.
BTW, braze-on derailleurs are not mounted by drilling a hole in the frame, but are bolted to a purpose-built mount attached to the seat-tube when the frame is built, or added after by a framebuilder. I doubt you could get a derailleur to come close to working by mounting it to a hole drilled in the frame. |
