Presta tip stuck in tire pump!!!

Ok, so just now the stupid nut/tip thing of the Presta valve snapped off and is stuck in my floor tire pump. It's one of those interchangeable presta/schrader pumps. Has anyone done this? Is there some trick to getting the piece out? I don't want to spend another 40 bucks on a pump!

You should be able to take apart the head, I don't think I've seen one where you cannot do so. If not, try a small needle nose or something else that you can use to pull or pop it out, but be careful not to damage the rubber. If still "stuck" just buy a new head or hose.

I would say you should be careful when inflating to keep the head on straight, and that's true. However I'll also tell you that many of us have done the same thing, including me this morning!

On some with the two separate holes rather than the flip around single end you may need to access the rubber seals by removing the clamping lever. At least the one I've got is like that.

Even if you can't get it out, you can cut off the head and replace it. Ask the parts guy at your LBS or look on line for a pump head.
