Giant Cypress DX

I just bought this great bike from a friend. It looks like it should be easy to adjust the seat height but I don't want to damage it. Is it just a tight lever or do I need to open something to allow the lever to open?

I'm guessing its a quick release lever.

Open (pull) the arm out - then turn counter-clockwise to loosen it. Then wiggle the seat until its lose enough to adjust.

If the seat has been in the same location for a while this may take a little bit of elbow grease.

If it has a lever on the quick-release lever, then using the quick-release will be the way to get the seat loose. You shouldn't need to spin anything (like the nut on the other side of the quick-release). If you have the lever open and the seat still wont move, try torquing the seat from side-to-side and push up/down while torquing it (someone may have forgotten to grease the post when it was installed).

Thanks! That makes sense. It's probably just a tight lever that hasn't been used for a long time.
