Swaping Freewheel

I had the LBS change my 16 tooth freewheel to an 18 tooth, on my Masi SS. I asked them if they would put the 16T on the other side of the hub,so I could change gear inches in the field if I wanted to . They said there wasn' t enough threads to do this, however some people do it. (It is a flip flop hub) I said fine and put in on myself. I was just wondering if this is ok. I thought I read somewhere on this forum it was. I haven't tried it yet, but if I had to just wondering if it's cool. Thanks :-)>

How many turns did it spin on before it bottomed out?

And try a serious grunt/sprint up the biggest hill you can find. If it survives a few lunges then it should be fine. Just be ready for it to suddenly strip the threads and spin free and leave you pedalling air... :D
