What headset do I need?

OK, I'm sorry. I did a search and found a thousand headset threads, but none to answer my question. I'm building up my frame and need a headset. When I last built a bike, there weren't even threadless headsets around, let alone integrated ones. At any rate, the head tube is about 46 mm wide with a lip inside about 7 mm down. I asked the guy whom I got it from whether it needed an integrated or threadless headset and he essentially said "yes." So I still don't know. I'm starting to get the feeling that either will work, but am not sure. If anyone knows any tricks on how to look at your frame and know what headset I need, I would appreciate any information you would be kind enough to give.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I already have a carbon stem w/aluminum steerer, 1-1/8.

Thanks again,

dave

threadless and integrated are not the same. 46mm is bigger than any 'standard' threadless I can find. 44.0mm is cane creek zs-2 11/8" internal HS size. You could even have somethng proprietary, depending on the frame. www.parktool.com has the standards for some integrated/internal HS.
