Rear derailleur on an old Murray Baja explorer replacement.
Hi guys and gals, This is possibly a silly question but since I can't find the answer I need I figure this is a forum so I shall ask. This is an image of an old Murray Baja 10 speed mountain bike, well its rear derailleur anyhow and it was lent to someone and they trashed the derailleur and the owner would like to replace it as cheaply as possible as its a very old bike and I don't suppose worth a whole lot.
what exactly would I replace this with? will any old 10 speed rear derailleur work? or is there something specific that would need to be used? also would it be taken completely off of the frame as a whole unit? or from that hex nut that's directly above the S in suntour in the image.
I didn't get a lot of a chance to look at it and he asked me if I could find him a rear derailleur and replace it for him, the owner is an older fella and has had the bike a while I guess and like I said is looking for a cheap fix if possible.
Thanks for any input

Be sure to replace the cable as well. It is in very poor shape.
