New Carbon Frame Bottom Bracket Cable Guide?

This is the best picture I could find; although it doesn't face the issue directly, I think you can see what I'm talking about.

I am concerned about the cable for the front derailleur. After it passes through the cable guide there is a little hole (looks like a phillips head screw in this photo, but it's a hole). Apparently you feed the steel cable into this hole, it follows a channel through the carbon and comes out a corresponding hole at the top and then proceeds up to the front derail, where it is secured.

As you can see from the photo, the hole is not directly under the end of the cable guide; so it looks like the action of the cable will be sawing on the carbon. Also it exits the top hole at an angle--more sawing.

What kind of protection can I use?; or should I just not worry about it. Thanks.

Get some cable liner. It's thin plastic tubing that used to be sold to line brake cable housing and is still available from Shimano in about 6' lengths for around $2. Many bike shops carry it. put a section of it over the wire where it passes the frame and it will protect the carbon.

As it happens, I am the proud owner of the Jagwire cable sealing kit

which I got awhile back for another purpose. If I can't jam the liner-on-cable through the tiny hole, my only option would be to enlarge the hole(s). Because the frame has been painted (Chinese generic = minimal masking), I can't tell if there's a metal tube or other guide (which I might damage by drilling) or just a tunnel through the raw carbon. What's customary on a carbon frame with this type of setup?

Where did you get the frame and how much did it cost? Fork?

You can find those frames on ebay by searching carbon frameset or something along those lines. They are around 380-400 dollars all said and done with shipping and fork included. Not sure if they come with headsets but when you're saving that much on a carbon frameset, buying a headset shouldn't be a huge barrier. I've heard the quality is very acceptable with them, although often there are cosmetic flaws in the carbon layup that are difficult to get taken care of because of the ludicrous shipping cost between China and the US.

There's a veerrrry long thread over at roadbikereview if you're interested. Lots of info there from people who have bought them.

Actually, the other guy hit all the high points. My total cost (including shipping) was US$480 for frame and fork, custom paintjob on frame and fork, extra fork, headset, 2 bottle cages, seatpost, seatpost clamp, extra rear derailleur hanger. I got the Kuota Kredo lookalike:
