"Clicking" Sound
 

Hello everybody,

First let me say I have a Haro Backtrail X1. Lately I've been noticing an annoying "clicking" sound when I ride. I think it's coming from the rear sprocket but I'm not sure... I'm sorry I can't explain it in more detail. Is there any way I could fix this?

Check for a frozen link in your chain.

What's the frequency of the clicking?
You sure its not the freewheel coasting?

Sorry if I sound stupid, but what is a frozen link? I'm not too technical with bikes...LOL...and no I don't think it's freewheel coasting.

Get off your bike, slowly rotate the crank backwards and look at the chain running through the derailler. It all the links on the chain should bend smoothly. If there's a frozen link, then the pin in the link's offset and not allowing the links to rotate smoothly.
