extending sora brifters

Sora level brifters have a little thumb switch that's a little difficult to reach from the drops.

Is there a product that extends...? This market segmentation is a little annoying

I haven't seen any.

The similarly priced alternatives would be campy veloce levers with a j-tek shiftmate or 9sp dura-ace barcons.

Nope. Some STI Tiagra shifters are a nice replacement though. I found that on bars where the shifter mounted lower on the bars (like those with "pro" bends like the 3T Rotundo) that you can grip the drops high enough to thumb it with a little reach but otherwise, I would suggest new levers.

I spent alot of time positioning mine 'just so', and now I can shift them from the drops with no problem. What worked for me was to tweak them so that instead of pointing straight ahead, they point ever so slightly inwards. I've had them for two years and have no shifting problems with them.

repplace them with microshift brifters low cost and work quite nicely for me

I think the whole idea behind the ergo or 'brifter' levers was never having to take your hands off the hoods. not even to wave at another cyclist
