You need a big beefy police officer on hand who has experience ripping the arms out of the sockets of crack users.

Can't open attachments , Small picture . so is this a square taper or octalink BB type
You need the wrench to loosen the bolt holding the arm to the BB and then , being attentive to remove any flat washer
behind the nut , screw in the crank arm extractor then push the arm off the BB spindle.
Tubular Octalink and isis spline type need a different tool than the square taper types

A big ass piece of wood and a hammer will take that thing out right away. If you dont have tools to do it.
If you want to buy tools just go to the store and ask for a square tapper crank extractor.
good luck.

No need to remove the crank if you just need to take off the outer chain ring. Just undo those 4 allen head bolts that are attaching the rings to the crank and you can then remove it while leaving the crank in place.

You don't need to remove the crank to remove the outer ring. It will be simpler to install the new one with one of these.
