Friend has some BB problems
 

Basically, his BB is not aligned. The right side is "popping" out and makes the crank all sketchy. Here's a convenient diagram:

How would we fix this? Thanks!

Is there play in cranks? Who installed the BB? Which BB is it? What makes it sketchy? I installed a new Shimano BB on an older bike and the cup sticks out a bit installed with the specified torque.

There is a lot of play. Like the cranks will stop spinning when rotating it half way. The BB was already installed, but I guess it popped out?

Or it's a cup and cone with a loose/missing lockring, had to say from a sketch. Need a real picture.
