Anybody know why campy 9 speed RD is not compatible with 10 speed?

Do you know the reason I can't use a 9 speed Rear Derailleur with Ego 10 shifters? Is it an indexing issue or a chain wrap issue or neither?

Campy unlike Shimano widened its range when it went to 10 speed.

I'll figure it out and let you guys know. I suspect it may not be truly incomaptible as long as you understand the mechanics of your bike.
