Disc brake pad retainer clip?

I have disc brakes from sram on my bicycle. It is the GT transeo ultra and they are avid juicy I believe. There is a little metal clip on the outward facing side of the caliper that looks to hold the pads in by grabbing some wings on the pad. I had trouble getting out (what is the proper way) and bent it slightly out of shape.

My question is first where can I find a replacement. The second is if is even needed? I'd imagine with the disc in between the pads shouldn't just fall out with the spreader still there.

If there are any questions I can get pictures to help.

Thanks!

I have the h spreader clip still. It looks like those come with the pads, the one I'm missing is the disc pad retainer.

It looks similar to the one here:
