I am needing to come up with a way to store my bikes. I am considering hanging the bike as pictured...Attachment 172245.

Will this cause any damage to the head set? One bike has the standard cup and bearing headset and the other bike has an integrated headset with a carbon stem.

Do you see any problem with this?

Hanging a bike like that is fine.

Even though It seems like alot of weight is all on just a few areas of the bike.... there is alot more weight on them when you are riding it.

Not the slightest problem. As noted, the forces on the bike are FAR higher when you ride it.

I noticed your original question said "bikes." If you are hanging more than one I'd recomend hanging the first by the front wheel, second from the back, third from the front etc. This will make it a little easier to get them up and down as you will have a little more room.

No. Shouldn't cause any probs to the headset. The headset, when you are riding your bike, takes far more abuse on it that merely hanging it from the ceiling. Lots of people store there bikes like this.

Don't hang them outside, as I am sure you aren't, because water can enter components and pool in bearings and places where you may not consider. I have seen bikes hung upside down outside and know there will be problems, certainly in the headset.
