Shimano 8s20 shifter

Hello. Could anyone please help me with the following problem.
I've got shimano's revoshifter SL-8S20 and I don't know how to properly install to the outer casing of the cable into the shifter. I mean, it doesn't hold there. Every time I turn the shifter from 8th to 1st speed the casing gets thrown out. I don't see how it could be firmly placed there. The cable itself moves fine.

The cable should never go slack enough for that to happen, the casing should basically be press fit between the shifter and the cable stop on the frame.
