Replace derailleur hanger???????
 

So my son took a stick into the rear derailleur while we were riding some single track and bent the rear derailleur. I have a newer Deore derailleur I can use as a replacement but I don't want to buy or wait for a derailleur hanger to arrive. I straightened it up with a park derailleur adjustment tool and it seems solid. Am I just being cheap and lazy, would you replace it or give it a go? Thanks. al.

If its straight, I would just mount a derailer and go.

So it's removable? or was that supposed to be common knowledge?

Depends on who you are, as whether it is common knowledge or not. Not all hangers are replaceable. But many are.

Yes it's a replacable one, I'm thinking I'm going to give it a try, I live in the middle of nowhere so I'm looking at at least 3 days for one to arrive, I guess if I can't dial in the shifting I'll just have to order one then. thanks.

Why not order one just to have around and run with what you have?
