levers are too far
The levers on this bike are too far away when im in the drops. Should I just move them further down the bars?

They do look higher than they ought to be. If the bars were angled up more - like I would expect them to be, then the levers would look way too high up on the bend. Yes, move them down and see how that works for you. They need to be easy to use in the positions that you prefer.

Generally brake levers on drop bars are set up with the bottom edge of the flats lined up with the bottom tip of the brake lever. Following that role, these levers are close to perfect.
However, they still seem to be pointing out a weird angle... is it possible those levers were diassembled and not properly reassembled? Or maybe those levers are meant for a bar with an ergo shape or something other than the classic round-drop style? |
These levers are tektro branded. THey have a campy styled quick release that allows the wheel to be removed. Simply push the small silver cylinder above the lever the other way and it should move inward. The way the levers are in the picture is how they would look if you were taking the front wheel off.

yeah, the QR on the lever is in the 'open' position.

The above are correct. To be clear, you will need to apply the brakes before pushing the dowel over, otherwise the dowel will not move.

I agree looks like the QRs are in the 'Open' position
