Warped Rotor?

I have Bontrager hubs and XT Disc brakes. I thought I .replaced a warped rotot. After tightening the new rotor down it appears to be warped too. Any thoughts?

How about proper torque on the bolts. If you over torque them or torque them unevenly you will warp the rotor.

I have to agree with Grasschopper with this one.

Did you go around tighhtening the bolts down in a circular pattern or did you tighten them down in a star pattern (similar to lug nuts on a car)? If you did the circle pattern, chances are that's what warped your rotor.

Any ideas where I can get a torque wrench that goes down to 18 in. lbs.? I found a craftsman, but it only goes as low as 25 in.lbs.

Star pattern.

Check to make sure that the rim is true, if it is not it can make the rotor appear to be warped.

ehhmmmmmm.. i think i also warped my rotor.

i was riding behind a friend a couple of days ago, and he slipped and fell, i had no time to react and my front rotor hit this rear tire. I wasnt riding very fast, but could this have been enough force to bend my rotor?

Possibly

Anyone know if a rotor can be fixed from being warped/bent?

Yes.

Definitely, just use an adjustable wrench to carefully pull it straight. If it's a small warp, I wouldn't even worry about it...
