Bike got hit.
So a car hit my bike today and I think it snipped my backwheel. My backwheel is bent and I didn't get hit too hard. My frame should be okay right? I have a motobecane messenger (4130 cromly). Would the impact have an effect on my chainstay? My frame looks okay, but I am not sure.

It depends on how you were hit but did they hit the frame. It's easy to check the frame by using a piece of fishing line and tie it to the rear eyelet on one side and run the string up to the front of the frames head tube and back down the other side to that drop out. Take a set of calipers and measure the difference between from the string to the seat tube on one side and then the other if there is a difference then the frame is bent and if it is slight the you probably won't notice it. If it is off a 1/2" then the bike won't track straight riding no hands, bike will pull to one side. hope this helps, good luck.

Police report in the works? Info from the motorist? If they or their insurance will pay for damage, then go to a bike shop to get estimate/assessment.

I would take the bike to a LBS and have them check the alignment. Any good shop should have the tool for this. If the frame is bent have the person who hit you buy a new frame and pay for the build up. Good luck.
