buying izip parts
Hi
I have an Izip trailz bought from ebay, I dont commute but just use it for short distances. One of the pedals came off and the thread is tottally knackered. I have replaced the crank fron a folding bike but it does not fit properly.
I rides ok in 5th gear, but try to gear down to first and the chain comes off, because the crank sticks out more than the original one. The crank nut only just hold it on.
I am in the UK, how do I fix this? Are Izips crant the same as most mountain bikes, I could wait and see if I can come accross another scrap bike. Or where can I get the right part, sounds expensive :-(
Peraps I should have posted this in the electric cycle section?

Hi, cranks have different offsets. If you look down at the arm, on the inside were the spindle inserts to the arm and then see the distance out to the chain ring between your 2 cranks you will see the diff. offset between them. That is what you would be trying to match up as well as the bolt circle diameter if you needed the chain ring for proper gearing. In order to use the original bottom bracket, it easier to replace the BB for the crank and be done unless that bike is not a parts bike. Replacing the bottom bracket to match your crank should work or new Crank and BB. The manufacturer is Currie, Good luck
